The Whyalla Hospital Renal Unit Upgrade project was  completed for the Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure (DPTI) on behalf of SA Health.

The project consisted of three sequential stages to be undertaken within a busy operating hospital facility, and involved the renovating, refurbishing and upgrading of facilities across  three locations to form the new Cardiac & Urology Consulting Rooms in Stage 1. A new external walkway linking the work area to the existing SA Pathology was also constructed.

Once the existing Cardiac & Urology Department had been relocated, the existing location became Stages 2 & 3 to renovate, refurbish and upgrade to house the new Renal Unit. The relocation of the Renal Unit to this larger area made way for an upgrade for Staff facilities and a waiting area with external works comprising of a new entrance canopy, new concrete pavement, garden works, and an upgrade of the existing carpark surface.

The Pascale team determined the location and safe removal of asbestos  materials during the 3 stages of work, without compromising the operational hospital or the safety of staff and patients.

Trevor Byles from SA Health stated that during the Whyalla Hospital Renal Unit Upgrade, “Pascale Construction have proven to be a worthy contractor to carry out this project. Trevor went on to say: “Pascale Construction have consistently hit key milestone dates, the project is on budget and the quality of work has been of an extremely high standard.”
