St Ann’s Special School

Education, South Australia

Process

The site located in Flinders Park was a decommissioned Catholic School which was earmarked to be the new home for St Ann’s Special School to relocate to. At a grand opening ceremony upon completion of our works the school was renamed to Our Lady of La Vang School, and provides a specialist education facility for 63 students who have an intellectual disability.

The project consisted of an extensive refurbishment of the existing 2 storey building, and the construction of 3 new single storey specialised buildings, complete with extensive landscaping, play areas and equipment, underground water storage tanks and carpark incorporating permeable surface layers.

The end use of the buildings constructed provides areas for the Reception and Administration Offices, Staff & Training Facilities, Resource Centre, Activity Hall, Art Centre and Learning Areas. All had a very specific brief with the requirement for a high standard of compliance and quality to meet the specialised needs of the children.
