Process

The project consisted of the demolition of existing buildings and clearing of land to make way for the construction of two (2) single storey residential flat buildings each comprising of 3 brick veneer fully independent & self-contained living units.

Each unit has been designed with the view of maximising the use of local materials and incorporates energy efficient design and techniques.

In ground rainwater retention tanks have been installed harvesting collected roof rain water, centralised between the units, being utilised for general use within the units and external landscape irrigation and internal courtyard area’s.

Solar Voltaic panels have been installed for self- sufficiency including solar hot water systems with the excess power being generated back into the electricity power grid.

High level automated awning windows and raked ceilings have been incorporated to help maintain internal temperatures.

Internal courtyards have been included in each unit with easy access from within offering additional privacy.
